Silvio Fischbein: Argentinean, born in 1949 is a visual artist and filmmaker. He lives and works in Buenos Aires.

He graduated from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) as an architect in 1974, and as an urban planner in 1980. He has held the chair of Audio visual Design full professor, FADU, UBA, and of Directing professor at the Art School, National University of the Center of the Buenos Aires Province. He is currently Consulting Professor at the University of Buenos Aires.

He has held several cultural management positions at the University of Buenos Aires, among them he was the director of the Sound and Image Design Program, FADU - UBA, under which framework he created and directed La Fábrica Audiovisual (The Audio-visual Factory). Now he is the Undersecretary of Culture, FADU, Buenos Aires University.

At the present, he is the CIBA chair, CILECT Ibero América, Centre International de Liaison des École de Cinéma et Télévision.

He is the General Secretary of the Argentinian Visual Artist Association.

As a filmmaker he has made 30 shorts and 5 fiction feature films. He won the George Meliès Price, 1984.

He was repeatedly awarded grants by the Governments of France and Canada.

As a visual artist he made 27 solo exhibitions and he participated 38 Group exhibitions.

In 2015 he won the Pollock - Krasner Foundation Grant.
